Lyme Disease group to take part in
symposium.

The Lyme Disease Association of Iowa will
participate in an Infectious Disease Symposium on Tuesday, September
18th at the Sioux City Convention Center. The event is sponsored by
Mercy Medical Center -- Sioux City.
The Lyme Disease Association will staff a booth from 7:30 a.m. to
3:30 p.m. with individuals suffering from Lyme Disease and
representatives of the association.
About 1,300 people in Iowa have been debilitated by Lyme Disease,
according to Judith Weeg, director of the Lyme Disease Association
of Iowa.

Editor note: According to Mercy Medical Center, the annual
symposium is geared for physicians, physician
assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, nursing home
administrators, respiratory therapists, funeral home directors,
pre-hospital personnel and other interested healthcare
professionals. This conference provides current information about
the diagnosis, effective treatment and epidemiology of infectious
diseases and the prevention and control of infectious agents.
Continuing education credit is available for physicians, nurses and
other healthcare professionals.
